Jim Nissen For 40 years Jim has been an entrepreneur, corporate and industry leader, speaker, facilitator, life and business coach. His background includes Direct Mail Advertising, 34 years in the Insurance Industry, owning an insurance agency, 22 years in corporate leadership and entrepreneurial development. Unlocking the secrets of higher performance is Jim's specialty. Helping clients see and learn techniques of detecting untapped potential and opportunities. Reducing barriers while changing habits, attitudes, beliefs, and expectations that separate low performance from high performance. Jim is associated with and facilitates the internationally known and highly successful The Pacific Institute (TPI) curriculum. The TPI's "Investment In Excellence" curriculum paves the way for individuals and organizations to make great leaps in sales, raise job satisfaction, improve organizational culture, enhance personal self esteem and abilities to constructively work with others. In addition, Jim is an associate of The Covenant Group, providing entrepreneurial development for Financial Advisors and Insurance Agents. Jim is an insurance industry Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow, Toastmaster CTM, past president of his areas General Agents and Managers Association, 23 year member and past board member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, past board member of the Hartland Division and founding board member of the High Plains Division of the American Cancer Society, board member of his local YMCA and Endowment speaker. Jim is the Principal of Leadership Industries. Allen Beck, Ph.D. Allen has been a consultant to governmental and social service agencies for the past 20 years. Many of his projects have involved performance analysis and operations improvement. His background includes serving as the Director of a major center for the U.S. Department of Justice that trained program planners and evaluators in state and local governmental agencies across the country. Other highlights of his background include consulting in strategic planning in the health care field, financial feasibility studies for county government capital improvement projects, planning of social services programs, and evaluation of adult and youth programs. Allen is a principal of Pacific Accord. Denise Upah Mills Denise has 25 years of successful business ownership that span a variety of industries including: health care, real estate; insurance; financial services; agriculture, healthcare; and technology. She launched Six Degrees Solutions LLC in 1998, to help executives and business owners develop stronger business relationships and create strategic alliances through networking. Her work in networking has taken her to speaking engagements around the country. She also works closely with a large foundation in Kansas City, The Kauffman Foundation, to help aspiring entrepreneurs explore the feasibility of starting a business. In 2002, Denise was recognized as one of 25 "Women Who Mean Business" by the Kansas City Business Journal. On December 30, 2005, Denise had breakfast in the White House with the First Lady. She was selected by the Johnson County Library system as their community representative when they received a national library award for excellence. Denise had used the Library's resources to research and successfully plan a $50-million technology company. Denise currently serves as a Director on several Boards: the National Association of Women Business Owners, the Board of Directors for the Women's Resource Network, and is President of the Board of the K-State Johnson County Extension and Outreach Foundation. Denise has been a facilitator of Investment in Excellence seminars for more than ten years and is a principal of Pacific Accord. John Vandewalle, MD, MBA Dr. Vandewalle brings great insights to Investment in Excellence® seminars about recognizing opportunities, leading the development of new initiatives, and ways to develop successful corporate infrastructure. He is recognized as one of the nation's top executives in the pharmaceutical industry. He began as a research scientist and physician in South Africa and rapidly moved upward, propelled by his ability to envision and manage growth initiatives. His background includes serving as vice president of International Business and, then vice president of Global Business Planning for Marion Merrell Dow. John was also the founder and CEO of Teva Marion Partners, a joint venture between Hoechst Marion Roussel and Teva Pharmaceuticals. He rapidly grew this company from start-up to more than a $100 million in less than four years. In 1999 he became President for Clinical Services in North America in Quintiles, the largest clinical research organization in the world. Subsequently, he was promoted to President of Quintiles Americas, which added to his responsibilities the Product Development Division. In this role he was responsible for more than 4,000 associates, sales in excess of $700 million and revenues in excess of $450 million. Having developed skills in national and international marketing, quality management, business planning, and leadership, Dr. Vandewalle decided to start iNTouch Consulting which provides assistance to a wide range of business and not-for-profit organizations. Kurt Reinke Kurt is a business coach and training consultant. Formerly with Dale Carnegie Institute, Kurt has over 20 years experience in training, project management, operations and marketing. He also has experience in broadcast management with seven years in radio and five years in television. He successfully turned cash flow from negative to positive for three radio stations and positioned each station as a business leader in the community with increased market share. Kurt devoted a year to the development of an inner-city youth program, Urban Youth Leadership, for a long-time business associate. This included gaining the cooperation of many inner-city organizations, creating partnerships to provide education assistance, mentoring and scholarships for higher education, to name a few. Kurt is an associate of Pacific Accord and is based in the Kansas City area. Joyce Layman Joyce has more than 15 years of successful selling in the wellness field and serves as a leader in the Kansas City Regional Team of Mannatech, Inc. She is experienced in team building, training, consulting, and coordinating large forums for health care professionals and general public. She is actively involved in philanthropic work with children through Manna Relief Ministries and Miracle League Baseball. Joyce serves on the board of Young Women on the Move and the HPC Foundation for Hospice Care. She is a speaker for the Carondelet Medical Center's Well Life at Work Speaker's Bureau. She also has experience in working with high-risk girls as a facilitator of Pathways to Excellence in middle and high schools in the Kansas City, Kansas School District. As a result of overcoming major challenges in her life, Joyce has developed important insights and sensitivities about how to help others successfully pursue life goals. Joyce is an associate of Pacific Accord and is based in the Kansas City area. |
